Dennis Maloney, Owner graduated from high school in El Paso. He joined the Army and served in the Army Security Agency where he was trained as a teletype and Morse Code operator. He was honorably discharged in 1973. He returned to El Paso where he worked at Phelps Dodge Copper Rod Mill full time and attended the University of Texas at El Paso until 1976. He attended Texas A&M University and worked in the Memorial Student Center as a baker. During a short sabbatical he worked for the University of Texas Lands Experimental Vineyard in Van Horn, TX. He returned to Texas A&M University and graduated in 1979. He worked for the Texas Department of Agriculture, Amarillo, TX office from 1980 until 1986. He worked as an Investigator for the Texas Structural Pest Control Board (now the TX SPCS) from 1986 to 2002. He has work in over 100 counties of West Texas. He has visited every school district in the 90 counties of West Texas.
After retiring from State Service, Dennis and his wife, Gayla, started Chrysalis Education and Consulting Service. Chrysalis Education provides classes for commercial companies as well as noncommercial locations in continuing education, technician training, exam study classes, integrated pest management (IPM) coordinators training.
Mr. Maloney, Associate Certified Entomologist is a Certified Applicator, 29890 PTLW, with the Texas Structural Pest Control Service. He is certified in termite, pest, lawn & ornamental, and weed. His workshops have been approved by the Arizona Structural Pest Control Board, Colorado Department of Agriculture, New Mexico Department of Agriculture, Oklahoma Department of Agriculture, Texas Department of Agriculture, Texas Department of State Health Services, and Texas Structural Pest Control Services.
Gayla Maloney, “The Boss”, graduated from Texas Tech University, Lubbock, TX. She has a Texas Teaching Certificate and worked for the Texas Department of Agriculture.
